How we’ve developed the future of zero client for defense

Designed for security and based on many years of experience, our new Trusted Zero Clients combine intuitive user experience and a rugged build to provide an enhanced solution for secure remote access from the desk to the battlefield.

We specialise in the Zero Trust world, with proven experience of supplying our DXZC and DXZ4 managed endpoint solutions into critical defense and federal sectors.

Building on our 30 years of experience supplying NATO and US Federal organisations and our strong OEM relationship with HP Teradici, we have developed the DXZ130 and DXZ160-R endpoints – the future of Zero Client for Zero Trust Architecture.

Both endpoints regularly check in with the HP Anyware Trust Center to provide continuous, real-time authentication of client firmware, configuration and security policy.

From the Department of Defense Zero Trust Reference Architecture: The seven Pillars in the DoD ZT Architecture include:

Device: Continuous real-time authentication, inspection, assessment, and patching of devices in an enterprise are critical functions. Solutions such as Mobile Device Managers, Comply to Connect programs, or Trusted Platform Modules (TPM) provide data that can be useful for device confidence assessments, authorization determination, and limiting access. Other assessments should be conducted for every access request (e.g. examinations of compromise state, software versions, protection status, encryption enablement, and proper configuration, etc.). Having the ability to identify, authenticate, inventory, authorize, isolate, secure, remediate, and control all devices is essential in a ZT approach.

What’s new?

Our new solutions connect to virtual and cloud desktops, remote workstations and desktop PCs, using PCoIP, PCoIP Ultra or VMware Blast. This also enables access to enhanced performance and features of PCoIP Ultra which means they only send pixels over the wire between the remote desktop and the client, with no user data stored on the client.

Focused solely on one use case and with an extremely rugged build for harsh environments (DXZ160-R only), they bring together a very simple client UX and continuous client authentication and validation. Based on a minimal, hardened Linux firmware, they are dedicated to remote access with no route for users to install applications.
