We’re all striving for more sustainable operations in the current climate. The UK remains committed to achieving Net Zero by 2050 and further global change is needed – researchers say there’s now a 66% chance we’ll pass the 1.5°C global warming threshold between now and 2027.

As firms set out their own green objectives, much of the focus for those in the financial services sector is on how to reduce emissions from the power-hungry IT infrastructure and associated activities such as cooling.

Traditionally, compute has been stored on the trading floor. However, the individual workstations required to deliver the processing power needed for financial trading are hot, heavy and inflexible. They are energy intensive and require additional cooling solutions, all of which requires significant power and cost.
